We are seeking an analytical, organized, and collaborative Staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting operations of a multi-location organization. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Compensation and Benefits
  • $25-$35 per hour based on experience
  • Full-Time - non-exempt

Schedule
Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, some overtime may be required

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree from an accredited university in business, accounting, Finance, or related field of study
  • 2+ years of accounting/finance related experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups and other formulas)
  • Experience using Business Central and other accounting systems – a plus 
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred
  • Manufacturing, automotive, fleet, or multi-location business experience
  • CPA designation or CPA candidate
  • Experience with acquisitions or consolidations
  • Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP

Job Duties
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Perform balance sheet and bank account reconciliations
  • Analyze financial data and investigate variances
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
  • Prepare and create journal entries
  • Support external audits and provide requested documentation
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
  • Help improve accounting processes and reporting efficiencies
  • Assist with sales tax filings and other regulatory reporting
  • Perform under deadlines and demonstrate willingness to work long hours if needed to complete projects on time
  • Participate in special projects and acquisitions integration efforts
