Job description

Job Title: IT Project Manager
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Type: Contract, long term 
Compensation: Negotiable, W-2 or C2C 
Work Model: Hybrid โ€“ onsite and remote, 1 week a month onsite
Hours: 40 hrs a week
Security Clearance: None, background check and drug testing required

NOTE:  LOOKING FOR DATA CENTER HPC EXPERIENCE 

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex infrastructure and development projects within the Research Information Services group for a leading pediatric treatment and research hospital client.
  • Support basic science research by overseeing projects involving High-Performance Computing (HPC) hardware installations, laboratory instruments, and cloud environments.
  • Coordinate deployments across primary data center and colocation (Colo) facilities, ensuring successful delivery of technology solutions that support critical research initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Communicate project status and technical details to executive management and technical teams.
  • Apply change management strategies to influence stakeholders and navigate scope and requirement trade-offs.
Requirements
  • Degree
  • 7+ years of relevant project management experience across multiple domains including data center HPC operations
  • Active PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
  • Proven track record of managing infrastructure installations, specifically involving HPC hardware and data center environments.
  • Experience managing DevOps-related projects and workflows.
  • Exceptional collaboration and presentation skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • High level of professionalism and change management savvy.
  • Local candidates in the Memphis area are highly recommended and preferred. This position requires a week a month on site.
  • Experience with Cloud technologies (Azure), Networking, Virtualization, and HPC environments.
  • Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and managing AI-related research projects is desirable.
  • Proficiency with ServiceNow PPM, Azure DevOps, or JIRA.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum Alliance, SAFe) and leading Agile teams.
  • Background in healthcare informatics or basic science within a multidisciplinary research environment.
  • Strong business analysis skills in technical IT and research settings.
