We take pride in our family-oriented business building practical green energy solutions from the ground up.

Join a team that’s giving new life to the future of our planet.

OverviewThe Project Manager – Resource is responsible for leading multiple exploration programs from inception through handover for plant construction. This role works primarily with technical teams — including geoscientists, drilling engineers, and testing engineers — to deliver integrated exploration and development programs such as drilling campaigns and well testing.
The Project Manager also serves as a key interface with permitting, land, and transmission/interconnection teams in other departments, ensuring alignment across technical and non-technical functions. The role also works closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) to establish, implement, and maintain project management processes that are aligned with Ormat’s strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all exploration projects are executed with the highest commitment to health, safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance.
  • Champion Ormat’s safety culture by integrating safety and compliance considerations into planning, execution, and project closeout.
  • Lead and coordinate multiple geothermal exploration programs worldwide, including drilling campaigns, well testing, and field development activities.
  • Manage exploration projects from early-stage scoping and permitting through execution and turnover for plant construction.
  • Apply Ormat’s well delivery process to ensure drilling campaigns and well flow tests meet technical, safety, and quality standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and track project schedules, ensuring alignment with program goals and milestones.
  • Proactively identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate potential impacts to stakeholders.
  • Manage project changes and uncertainties while maintaining focus on outcomes and value creation.
  • Serve as an interface between permitting, transmission/interconnection, land, resource science, and engineering teams.
  • Align objectives and priorities across departments to ensure coordinated and successful exploration outcomes.
  • Support special projects requiring project management within the Resource, Drilling, and EGS departments, including drilling campaigns at operating power plants.
  • Work closely with the PMO, adopting and contributing to company standards, procedures, and policies.
  • Develop and refine frameworks, processes, and tools to strengthen project delivery as the company grows.
  • Support continuous improvement by documenting lessons learned and promoting best practices across exploration and drilling projects.
  • Proactively identify and resolve challenges between technical groups, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and project value maximization.
  • Drive outcomes in a matrixed organization by fostering collaboration, accountability, and proactive engagement.
  • Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while ensuring budgets, schedules, and deliverables are consistently met.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets.
  • Coordinate procurement of goods and services in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Identify contracted services and manage 3rd party contracts as needed.
  • Conduct field site visits to monitor constructability, progress, and safety.
  • Provide project reporting, documentation, and stakeholder updates throughout the project lifecycle.

Other Responsibilities
  • Support and enforce the company’s safety protocols through the project timeline.
  • Provide support for special projects and endeavors as assigned.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • PMP project management qualification required to either be already held, or a commitment to achieve certification.
  • Five (5) years’ experience directly associated with projects, with preference being related to drilling or geothermal projects.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal or no supervision.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects across technical and non-technical teams under a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience working with a diverse range of cultures is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and influence positively a diverse group of executives, managers, stakeholders, and subject matter experts.
