Job description

Pharmacist, Charge (Contract)
  • Location: California 93405

  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks

  • Pay: $2,716 – $3,040 per week

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts)

  • Shift: Day Shift

  • Call: None


Position Summary & Responsibilities
  • Verify and dispense medication orders accurately and timely

  • Monitor therapies for safety, effectiveness, and interactions

  • Provide drug information and resolve medication-related issues

  • Document clinical interventions and ensure regulatory compliance

  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff

  • Participate in clinical rounds, reporting, and quality improvement initiatives


Job Requirements
  • Experience:

    • Minimum 7 years of hospital pharmacy experience required

    • Inpatient clinical pharmacy experience preferred

  • Education:

    • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy (Required)

    • PharmD (Preferred)

  • Licensure/Certifications:

    • Active Pharmacist license in the state of practice (Required)

    • All applicable state-required certifications


Facility & Staffing Details
  • Pharmacy Hours:

    • Monday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM

    • Saturday – Sunday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM

  • Staffing:

    • 3–4 Pharmacists (8-hour shifts)

    • 3–4 Pharmacy Technicians (10-hour shifts)

  • Weekend Coverage: Up to every other weekend

  • Call: Closing pharmacist on call until morning open

  • EMR System: Cerner

  • Special Procedures: IV Compounding

  • Scrubs: Provided for IV techs; no specific color required for pharmacists
