Abilene Sports Medicine & Orthopedics (ASMO) – PM&R / Interventional Spine Physician

Abilene Sports Medicine & Orthopedics (ASMO) is seeking a full-time, board-certified/board-eligible PM&R / Interventional Spine Physician to join our growing orthopedic team in Abilene, Texas, in Fall 2026. Candidates must have completed an ACGME-accredited PM&R residency with strong interventional spine training. We welcome applications from current residents and fellows preparing to transition into practice.

ASMO is seeking a clinically spine-focused PM&R physician with a strong interventional skill set to support the growing musculoskeletal and spine needs of West Texas. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in the evaluation, diagnosis, and non-operative management of spinal conditions while working collaboratively alongside orthopedic surgeons and multidisciplinary specialists.

ASMO is a highly respected orthopedic practice serving Abilene and surrounding West Texas communities. This opportunity offers the ability to build a robust spine and musculoskeletal practice in an underserved, high-demand market with significant growth potential. You will provide comprehensive non-operative spine and musculoskeletal care with a focus on:

  • Evaluation and diagnosis of spinal conditions
  • Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar interventional procedures
  • High and low cervical transforaminal injections
  • Thoracic transforaminal injections
  • Routine EMG and nerve conduction studies for musculoskeletal diagnoses
  • Bread and butter PM&R and musculoskeletal cases

This role emphasizes evidence-based, interventional treatment strategies while collaborating closely with orthopedic surgeons, therapy teams, and support staff to optimize patient outcomes.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board certification/board eligibility in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
  • Fellowship or advanced training in interventional spine, pain, or musculoskeletal medicine preferred
  • Strong procedural proficiency in cervical, thoracic, and lumbar interventions
  • Experience with EMG diagnostics
