About Us:

Calvary Baptist Church is dedicated to sustaining a clean, safe, and inviting environment for worship, fellowship, and ministry. We are seeking dependable, highly motivated, and service-oriented individuals to join our facilities team.

One full-time position is available at our Safety Harbor/Clearwater campus.

As a Christian Church, Calvary Baptist requires staff to uphold a lifestyle that reflects our commitment to Christ. Use of alcohol, tobacco (including vaping), and/or illicit drugs is not permitted, and all candidates must pass a level 2 background check.

Overview:

The Facilities Staff members support the mission of the church by maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all church ministries and guests. This active, physically involved role includes general cleaning, facility upkeep, event setup/tear down, minor maintenance and repair work as appropriate. The individual must demonstrate reliability, integrity, and a heart for serving within a Christian ministry context.

Key Responsibilities:

These duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Custodial Duties

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, offices, kitchen areas, and common areas
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust throughout the facilities
  • Remove trash and recycling and disposing of it properly
  • Refill soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other supplies
  • Ensure all areas are neat, orderly, and ready for use

Maintenance Duties

  • Perform minor repairs (e.g., plumbing, painting, replacing light bulbs, furniture fixes, etc.)
  • Report larger maintenance needs to Facilities Director
  • Monitor HVAC systems, water heaters, and other essential equipment
  • Operate and maintain facility equipment including floor scrubber, carpet cleaning machine, etc.
  • Assist with groundskeeping tasks as needed
  • Pick up and restock supplies as needed

Event and Ministry Support

  • Set up and break down tables, chairs, and other resources for services, events, and meetings
  • Respond to special setup needs for weddings, funerals, baptisms, VBS and Sunday worship services
  • Ensure spaces are reset to default configurations after use

Safety and Security

  • Always maintain safe work practices
  • Help secure the building by locking/unlocking and security codes on doors at scheduled times
  • Identify and report safety hazards or facility damage

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Prior custodial and/or facility maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift and potentially move 30 pounds and perform physical labor for extended periods.
  • Ability to work independently and follow written/verbal instructions
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to excellence in service
  • Must align with the church's mission

  • Willingness to work in a church environment and respect its faith and culture
  • Maintain a professional attitude in all interactions with staff, members, and guests
  • Supportive of the church's ministries events and mission through service
