Job description

Facility, Building & Grounds Maintenance

  • Perform routine cleaning of all church buildings, including sanctuaries, offices, restrooms, classrooms, and fellowship areas
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces regularly
  • Maintain cleanliness before and after services and events
  • Monitor and restock cleaning and restroom supplies
  • Perform minor repairs (e.g., replacing light bulbs, basic plumbing fixes, painting touch-ups)
  • Identify and report maintenance and repair need promptly to the Trustee Board Chair or designated representative
  • Maintain and track an annual church maintenance schedule, including preventative maintenance and seasonal tasks
  • Work in coordination with the Trustee Board Chair or designee to schedule and facilitate groundskeeping activities, ensuring the grounds are well-maintained through direct work or coordination of groundskeepers or vendors
  • Perform or oversee tasks such as grass cutting, shrub trimming, leaf removal, and snow/ice shoveling
  • Ensure all church facilities and grounds are clean, safe, functional, and presentable at all times

 

Event Setup & Support

  • Set up and break down rooms for worship services, meetings, funerals, and church sponsored special events
  • Arrange chairs, tables, podiums, and equipment as requested
  • Ensure spaces are ready in a timely and orderly manner

Security & Facility Access

·       Open and close church buildings for worship services, meetings, and special events

·       Ensure all buildings are properly secured after use

·       Monitor facilities for safety hazards and address concerns promptly

·       Ensure compliance with safety procedures and emergency protocols
