Job description

Los Altos United Church of Christ is a progressive, LGBTQIA+ affirming Christian community seeking an administrative assistant. This position provides administrative support, facilitates communication, and maintains the church office for the needs of the congregation, campus organizations, and tenants affiliated with Los Altos United Church of Christ.

Administrative Duties

●       Oversee daily building operations and maintenance in coordination with the facilities team

●       Answer telephones, greet visitors, respond to messages and building use inquiries

●       Prepare the weekly church bulletin, email and monthly newsletter

●       Coordinate payables, receivables and bank deposits with the church bookkeeper

●       Sort incoming mail and ensure that outgoing mail is posted promptly

Additional Administrative Duties

●       Maintain and organize church directories

●       Prepare bulk mailings and event flyers as requested

●       Maintain the church office, inventory supplies, re-ordering when needed, preparing office supply budget, monitor office spending
