Job description

Job Title: PLM Windchill Consultant (SAP / PTC)

Location: Remote (Supporting Rancho Cordova, CA)
Client: Deloitte LLP
Contract Duration: 3 Years
Pay Rate: 50/hr-55/hr


Overview

We are seeking a PLM Windchill Consultant to support a large consulting engagement with a Fortune 1000 client. This role will focus on post-implementation support (“operate phase”) of an existing SAP PTC Windchill environment.

The ideal candidate will serve as a technical lead for a small team (4 resources) while owning system operations, enhancements, and ongoing optimization efforts. This is a highly visible role requiring strong technical expertise, leadership, and stakeholder communication.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead a team of 4 in supporting and enhancing the Windchill PLM environment
  • Act as the primary liaison between business and IT stakeholders
  • Drive ticket triage, prioritization, and resolution updates
  • Provide guidance on system enhancements, improvements, and best practices

System Operations & Administration

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Windchill PLM platform (12.x), including system health, uptime, and performance
  • Configure and maintain lifecycles, workflows, and data structures
  • Oversee user access, roles, and security permissions
  • Ensure data integrity, version control, and compliance standards are maintained
  • Apply patches, upgrades, and system updates

Support & Issue Resolution

  • Provide technical troubleshooting and support to engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain users
  • Diagnose system issues and lead root cause analysis for recurring defects
  • Manage tickets, defects, and requests through tools like ServiceNow
  • Ensure SLA adherence across incident and problem management

Enhancements & Integration

  • Design and implement system enhancements, customizations, and adjustments
  • Develop and support integrations between Windchill PLM and SAP S/4
  • Build and maintain REST APIs and middleware integrations (e.g., BOOMI)
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation


Required Skills & Experience

  • 6–7+ years of experience working with PTC Windchill / SAP PLM environments
  • Strong experience with Windchill 12.x (Product Lifecycle Management)
  • Hands-on experience with Java and J2EE
  • Experience developing REST APIs and system integrations
  • Experience integrating PLM data with SAP S/4 (via BOOMI or similar tools)
  • Proven ability to lead small teams and manage deliverables
  • Experience supporting enhancements, customizations, and system improvements
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

  • Experience supporting a Fortune 1000 enterprise environment
