Position:Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) TechnicianDepartment:Water & Sewer UtilitiesReports To:Water & Sewer SuperintendentFLSA Status:Non-ExemptPay:$29.80 per hourDESCRIPTIONThe PLC Technician is responsible for the programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) utilized in water and sewer infrastructure. This position requires advanced expertise in PLC systems to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our water and sewer operations.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree or equivalent technical education in electrical engineering, automation, industrial electronics, or a related field is required.Minimum 8 years of experience with PLC systems and related SCADA or computer applications in municipal water and wastewater utility environments required.Must possess a valid Driver's License Class C at time of placement.Flexibility to respond to emergency situations and work outside of regular business hours when necessary.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESKnowledge of and proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, function block diagrams) and software (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).Knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control principles related to water and sewer infrastructure.Skills in excellent problem-solving and attention to detail in diagnosing and resolving PLC-related issues.Skills in effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical information clearly.
