Job description

Position: Controls Engineer - Food Manufacturing

Location: Rossville, TN (relocation package available)

Compensation: $120,000 – $140,000 base salary + performance bonus

Our client is one of North America's leading organic brands, and their Rossville, TN facility is in the middle of a significant automation expansion. This role carries broad responsibility for the facility's PLC and HMI systems as well as hands-on ownership of the robotics program from commissioning through handover. The company is deploying a fleet of industrial robots across production lines, with approximately 45 units planned and more to follow as capacity is added. This is a permanent position with significant project responsibility -- robotic projects alone are confirmed for at least the next two to four years and likely well beyond.

Key requirements:

  • BS Degree in Engineering, ideally Electrical, Automation, or Mechatronics
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in industrial controls engineering in a food or CPG manufacturing environment
  • PLC programming experience is essential -- you will own the PLC and HMI systems for the facility, including programming, troubleshooting, and ongoing development
  • Strong proficiency in robot programming and control; experience with Kawasaki robots is a significant asset, Fanuc experience also valued
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate robot control with PLC logic
  • Hands-on commissioning experience; ability to bring new systems online and execute clean handovers to maintenance teams
  • Expertise with HMIs and ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
  • Willingness to travel within North America for training and to OEM facilities for equipment selection as needed
  • Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer. Sorry, no sponsorships.

Compensation includes a base salary of $120,000 to $140,000 commensurate with experience, a performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare. This is a direct-hire, permanent opportunity with a growing, mission-driven company.
