Controls / PLC Engineer (Siemens) – Contract

Location: Hamilton, Ontario (preferred)
Job Type: Contract (4–6+ weeks)

We are seeking an experienced Controls / PLC Engineer with strong Siemens PLC expertise for a short-term contract assignment supporting industrial automation projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for PLC programming, controls troubleshooting, commissioning, and startup support for automation systems. This role is ideal for an engineer with hands-on experience in industrial controls who can quickly integrate into an existing project and deliver results.

Responsibilities

  • Program, modify, and troubleshoot Siemens PLC systems.
  • Perform PLC programming, testing, and validation for industrial automation equipment.
  • Support commissioning, startup, and system integration activities.
  • Diagnose and resolve controls, electrical, and automation issues in the field.
  • Work with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to ensure reliable system performance.
  • Optimize automation processes and improve machine performance.
  • Document programming changes, testing results, and commissioning activities.
  • Follow established engineering, safety, and quality standards throughout the project.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Controls Engineer, PLC Engineer, or Automation Engineer.
