Job description

Playground Aide

Reports To: Principal/Assistant Principal

Available: August 31, 2026

Terms Of Employment: $16.94/Hr., 10-Month work year/student days.

Hours: 10:50 am - 1:05 pm

Location: Guth Elementary

Principal Function: Through meaningful playground leadership, to enable students to enjoy group interaction and physical exercise which are integral parts of the district educational program.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
  1. Supervises students at playtime and maintains a positive, harmonious and safe atmosphere on the playground or inside recess location.
  2. Organizes group games and activities.
  3. Instructs students on the proper and safe use of playground equipment.
  4. Oversees the proper storage of playground equipment.
  5. Directs movement of groups of students to and from the play area(s).
  6. Attends in-service training programs as appropriate.
  7. Informs any attending teacher, or administrator, in the event of any argument involving students; any incident involving physical confrontation; and any incident that appears to be of more than momentary disruption.
  8. Any other duties or responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Principal or Assistant Principal.

Education/Certification: High School Diploma

Qualifications/Requisite Skills:

  1. Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
  2. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable.

  • PA State Police Clearance (Act 34)
  • Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151)
  • FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114)
  • School Personnel Health Form (Physical and TB test)
  • PDE 6004 Form (Act 24)
  • Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release Form(s) (Act 168)
