Job Summary:
Riot Games is a company focused on creating player-first experiences, and they are seeking a Senior Technical Producer for Foundational Services & Operations on an unpublished R&D product. This role involves managing production for foundational services that support the entire game, ensuring operational efficiency and service reliability across multiple engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Own production for foundational core backend services, managing backlogs, scope, schedules, and delivery across multiple engineering teams.
โ€ข Drive execution through strong Agile practices, including sprint planning, prioritization, velocity tracking, and dependency management.
โ€ข Maintain clear visibility of work through JIRA, ensuring epics, stories, risks, and cross-team dependencies are accurately tracked and actively managed.
โ€ข Coordinate feature delivery across internal teams and external partners, balancing capacity, timelines, and operational risk.
โ€ข Lead operational review cadences, including preparing agendas, reviewing service health, surfacing risks, and driving follow-up actions to completion.
โ€ข Partner with release management to deliver builds across platforms globally
โ€ข Own incident management processes for services, including coordination during incidents, clear communication, and post-incident follow-through.
โ€ข Facilitate postmortems and retrospectives, translating operational learnings into concrete improvements in systems, tooling, or process.
โ€ข Partner closely with Live Operations and Product Support teams to align ownership, workflows, and expectations for service reliability.
โ€ข Dig into dashboards, metrics, and logs to understand service health, validate assumptions, and track progress against KPIs and targets.
โ€ข Provide clear reporting to Foundation Operations Leadership on delivery status, service health, risks, and operational trends.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข 6+ years of experience producing live services, backend systems, or platform technology in games or large-scale software.
โ€ข Proven experience owning production for services that operate at game-wide or platform scale.
โ€ข Strong experience running operational reviews and incident management processes in a live environment.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to work with dashboards, KPIs, and operational metrics to guide decision-making.
โ€ข Deep familiarity with Agile production practices, including backlog management, estimation, and velocity tracking.
โ€ข Extensive experience using JIRA (or similar tools) to manage scope, dependencies, and delivery.
โ€ข Ability to coordinate work across multiple teams, disciplines, and external partners.
Preferred:
โ€ข Experience supporting large-scale live service games.
โ€ข Familiarity with service monitoring, alerting, and operational tooling.
โ€ข Experience working in blended production and live operations roles.
