ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT: CPN Gaming Enterprises
SUPERVISOR: Poker Shift Manager
FLSA: Non-Exempt
SALARY RATE: $28.00 -$39.00
Shifts for this position will be evenings and nights.
ALL FULL TIME POSITIONS: In addition to your pay, your salary also includes Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance. The Biweekly deduction from employee paycheck is $40.00 for Employee Only, $95.00 Employee plus Children, $120.00 Employee plus Spouse, and $140.00 Employee plus family.
FUNCTIONS STATEMENT:
• Supervise maintain and control all activities within the Poker Room.
• Under direct supervision of the Poker Manager and Shift Manager. Ability to monitor poker tables, dealers, and poker cashiers on assigned shifts.
MAJOR DUTIES:
• Greet and welcome guests at the poker room podium.
• Maintain and update waiting lists for all poker games.
• Announce and maintain any promotional totals and paid promotions.
• Responsible for dealer rotation on assigned shift.
• Provide oversight of poker dealers and poker cashiers.
• Responsible for assurance of game protection.
• Complete federal cash reporting requirements including Title 31 compliance.
• Responsible for table banks and card inventories.
• Resolves patron disputes within the scope of the dispute
• Protects the assets of the Casino.
• Maintains awareness of how each game stands with respect to table limits, open seats, and dealer performance.
• Ability to utilize Poker Atlas software.
• May be responsible for having a bank for cashing in and out patrons.
• May be required to deal poker games in certain situations.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:
• Knowledge of all casino poker games operations.
• Knowledge of standards of cleanliness as prescribed by various compliance and enforcement agencies associated with the gaming industry.
• Knowledge of the characteristics of appropriate and inappropriate greetings and interaction with guests and customers.
• Knowledge of methods and techniques that assure protection of the table and casino assets.
• Knowledge of how to administer the overall poker games department in accordance with management's directives and the policies.
• Knowledge of poker games.
• Skill in guest service, human relations and supervision of assigned staff.
• Skill in dealing with Poker.
• Ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in basic English.
• Ability to always demonstrate outstanding guest service.
• Ability to apply basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to respond to visual and auditory cues.
• Knowledge of the prescribed methods of application and completion of federal cash reporting requirement forms including Title 31 compliance regulations.
• Knowledge of methods for tracking card inventories for poker tables.
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS:
• Maintains constant awareness of poker activity.
• Maintains and enforces the Poker room rules of play.
• Initiates poker table fills.
• Opens and closes poker tables.
• Resolves guest issues and problems in a timely and professional manner.
• Greet guests, maintain a friendly and inviting atmosphere, and promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
• Gives basic instruction on all promotions and special events.
• Verifies gaming chip purchases and exchanges at the poker counter
• Monitors staff performance, behavior, and attendance.
• Accountability and Supervision
• Directly supervise poker dealers and poker cashiers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
• One (1) year Poker Floor Supervisory experience.
• Two (2) years' poker dealing experience required. Or a combination of skills and experience.
• Passing of a Poker audition is required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSES, AND ANY ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to pass background suitability investigation.
• Must obtain CPN Tribal Gaming License.
• Must obtain all other applicable certifications and licenses.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Must be able to stand and/ or walk for extended periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Work hours are subject to change with notice.
• Smoke filled environment, exposure to various lights and sounds. Occasionally you may deal with angry or hostile individuals.
• Tasks may be performed on hard and soft-carpeted floors.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to perform minimal physical efforts such as lifting, stooping, and reaching.
