Job description

ASRC Agile Decision Sciences is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are seeking a highly motivated Cloud Operations Engineer to join the SSDS team in Moorestown, NJ.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in containerization, orchestration, and cloud-native technologies, who can also collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams. Individual will play a key role in maintaining an onsite virtualization environment.  

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support containerized environments using Podman, Docker, and Docker Compose 
  • Deploy, monitor, and scale applications on Kubernetes clusters 
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable and repeatable deployments 
  • Work with development, security, and product teams to plan, deploy, and maintain services
  • Document operational procedures and create clear runbooks Proficient with scripting languages such as Bash, Python. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field) or equivalent related work experience
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required
  • This position requires the successful applicant to obtain and maintain the required security clearance or other authorization(s) within the necessary timeframe required by applicable contract(s)
  • 5-7+ years’ experience Cloud Ops, Site Reliability Engineering, or DevOps
  • Hands-on experience with Podman, Docker, and Docker Compose in production environments
  • Solid experience deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters
  • Proficient with scripting languages such as Bash, Python
  • Experience with version control tools, we use Git
  • Strong skills with Integrated Development Environments (IDE) such as Eclipse
  • Experience with monitoring/logging tools, like Prometheus and Grafana
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and IAM in cloud environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain technical issues clearly to both engineers and non-engineers
  • Comfortable participating in team planning meetings, and stakeholder updates
  • Familiar with driver-based and automated test environments

Experience with the following is considered a plus:

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
  • Familiarity with Podman in rootless environments 
  • Experience with operating IL5/IL6 compliance environments 
  • Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP 
  • Prior experience in high-availability or regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA, SOC2)
