Position Summary
As a Parts Sales Professional, you play a crucial role in delivering exceptional external and internal customer satisfaction while optimizing operational performance. Your responsibilities include identifying customer needs, procuring the necessary parts accurately, and effectively communicating solutions to both internal and external stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
  • Engage with customers to understand their requirements and recommend suitable parts.
  • Handle incoming phone calls promptly and professionally.
  • Proactively contact customers to discover needs and promote parts and service solutions.
  • Invoice parts to customers with attention to appropriate discounts, freight charges, and payment methods.
  • Initiate daily machine-down and stock orders to fulfill transactional needs of customers.
  • Ensure the display floor is stocked appropriately, utilizing proper merchandising techniques.
  • Assist in receiving daily stock orders and processing transfers.
  • Provide support to colleagues within the department as needed.
  • Communicate customer concerns to the appropriate management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the department, including the display floor and warehouse(s).
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and safe Parts Department environment.
  • File shipment shortages and report bin shortages or inventory adjustments to the Parts Manager.
  • Assist with inventory control functions and departmental report generation.
  • Perform any other duties or projects assigned by management.
  • Promote marketing for the Parts department.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Continuously learn and improve with required parts training.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends during peak business seasons.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Ability to apply consultative selling techniques effectively in daily work.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience in parts management preferred.
  • Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to obtain certification preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of agricultural equipment is advantageous.
  • Forklift certification.

Compensation
The following represents Platte Valley Equipment compensation estimation based on market data and placement of internal employees. This is a hourly role with a starting wage of $20.00/hourand going up to $30.00/hourbased on experience. This role is also incentive eligible and is based on performance.
