Job description

JSW Steel USA is seeking a Hot Plate Leveler to join our Plate Mill Operations team.
This position is responsible for leveling steel plates to meet production and quality specifications while ensuring proper identification and system tracking. The role requires attention to detail, equipment monitoring, and adherence to safety and operational procedures in a heavy industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review rolling order forms, including heat numbers and cutting specifications.
  • Perform leveling of steel plates to meet required thickness and quality standards.
  • Operate and monitor the plate leveler to ensure proper alignment and performance.
  • Maintain leveler equipment including chains, bearings, and rolls.
  • Perform routine greasing and preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Stamp and stencil plates to ensure proper identification and verification.
  • Update systems as required, including removing or placing holds on material.
  • Follow all operational procedures and safety guidelines while maintaining production efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 or more year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred; equivalent combinations of training and experience will be considered.
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems and data entry.
  • Ability to level steel plates.
  • Knowledge of proper stamping and stenciling procedures for plate identification.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.
