Maintenance Technician - Plastic Injection Molding Position Overview
The Maintenance Tech's primary responsibility is to ensure that equipment is safely operating and meets its intended use optimizing equipment up-time. The purpose of the Maintenance Mechanic is to make scheduled and unscheduled repairs on all machines and related equipment used in manufacturing as well as maintaining all building systems.
Maintenance Tech - Plastic Injection Molding Essential Functions
  • This position will maintain production and facility equipment to include installation, set up, preventative maintenance, and adjustments required by technical service instructions.
  • Safely troubleshoots, performs repairs, and executes all preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Inspects and tests equipment to detect causes of malfunctions on hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatics.
  • Capability of reading blueprints pertaining to hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, molding machines, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Dismantle machinery and equipment to gain access and perform diagnoses.
  • Removes and replaces worn or defective parts.
  • Repair/replace hoses, wiring, valves, etc., reassembles and verifies proper function.
  • Coordinate and schedule PM or repairs with production scheduler.
  • Maintain, document, and constantly improve preventive/predictive maintenance functions.
  • Maintains a high standard of housekeeping regarding work areas.
  • Follow all safety precautions on equipment, machinery and tools repairs per OSHA and complete all tasks or assignments as requested.
  • Willing to participate in continuing education programs and seminars.
  • Responsibilities are not limited to only those listed above.
  • Performs other related duties and job assignments as required.
  • Coordinates and maintains all job responsibilities in a continuous and flexible manner.

Maintenance Tech - Plastic Injection Molding Required Experience
  • Prefer 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a plastic injection molding environment.
  • Prefer hands on experience troubleshooting and repairing injection molding equipment.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, hydraulic, mechanical.
  • Experience in operating various hand tools and machining equipment.
  • Continually demonstrates excellent time management skills, works extra hours as required to complete pending repairs.
  • Need to possess basic tools to perform the job.

Maintenance Tech - Plastic Injection Molding Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
  • Frequently required standing, bending, squatting, and reaching with hands and arms.
