Location: Plymouth, MN
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Pay: $21.55 - $27/hour

Work Environment: Injection molding and automated manufacturing operations
Level: Mid-level production / technical specialist

Role Overview

This position is responsible for supporting and operating injection molding equipment used to produce molded components. The Component Molding Specialist ensures machines are properly set up, production runs efficiently, and parts meet quality standards.

This role goes beyond basic machine operation and includes greater ownership of setup, process adjustments, and troubleshooting, while not requiring full technician-level engineering responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate injection molding machines for production runs
  • Perform mold changes, material changes, and machine parameter adjustments
  • Monitor production output to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot common to moderate molding issues (e.g., short shots, flash, burns)
  • Conduct in-process inspections using calipers, gauges, and visual standards
  • Record production data and support SPC tracking and documentation requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve defects and improve processes
  • Assist in training and supporting machine operators as needed
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain process consistency

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in injection molding or plastics manufacturing
  • Hands-on experience with machine setup and troubleshooting (not just operation)
  • Ability to read basic blueprints/prints and follow work instructions
  • Experience using measurement tools (calipers, gauges, etc.) for quality checks
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
