JOB TITLE: Material Processing Technician
DIVISION: Custom Fabrication
REPORTS TO: Material Processing Lead (Custom Fabrication Foreman)

Position Summary
Operate material processing equipment in preparation for fabricating a wide variety of metal structures from oral directions, sketches, or drawings.

Key Tasks amp; Responsibilities
  • Ensures all company values are adhered to and promoted through leading by example and creating an environment of trust and teamwork
  • Assist in receiving and storage of incoming materials
  • Operate material processing equipment in preparation for fabrication (cutting, bending, drilling)
  • Ability to read blueprints, work orders, and complete standard records
  • Participates in all requested job-related training and development, as well as taking an active interest in improving skills with other training programs
  • Completes all reports and forms for service operations in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensures manager is aware of any issues which can impact customer satisfaction or billing
  • Maintains good condition and cleanliness of company vehicles, tools, and equipment, including the return of tools to storage areas
  • Follows all company and common sense safety policies, while using all required personal protective equipment
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to operate metal processing equipment (bandsaw, chop saw, iron worker, drill line, plasma table)
  • Ability to read and understand tape measure
  • Experience in metal material processing and willingness to learn new material processing equipment
  • Weld and fabricate small fixtures and projects is a plus
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used in service shops (fork-lifts, hydraulic lifts, etc)
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds as required without assistance
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professionalism in the workplace
  • Strong organizational skills
