Job description

Scope and Purpose of Position:

Directs and coordinates the production activities of the supplier that provides products directly to the automotive assembly plants. The Production Manager is responsible for directing and providing resources for the plant to achieve SQCDM goals.

Tasks of the Position:

  • Manage a safe work environment and exemplary safety performance
  • Lead by example positive business ethics as defined within the Client's core values
  • Plan manpower requirements to customer demand. Make adjustments as necessary to ensure 100 % quality and on time delivery while maintaining cost targets, both straight time and overtime.
  • Adhere and perform to budgets by departments
  • Manage operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure products & services meet customer's expectations.
  • Reviwe PPH of quality, production, and maintenance to drive team for continuous imporovment
  • Lead and participate in Lean driven projects
  • Develop positive relationship with internal and external customers
  • Assist Executive Director in review of PPH, set, present and achieve SQCDM, OEE and Business Plan goals
  • Problem analysis and countermeasure development of nonconforming processes to prevent recurrence of poor quality and unacceptable delivery to our customers
  • Manage new model(s) and new business projects to ensure new model goals are met
  • Review MRO supplies requirements, requests, and expenditures
  • Verify production operation standards are available, effective and current
  • Must have hands on and working knowledge of each station/area on shift
  • Lead, participate and support activities within the Plant, to include 5S, Kaizen, Quick Hits, Six Sigma, and ohter related continuous imporvement events
  • Facilitate daily production meeting along with follow up of critical action items
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Thorough knowledge of ISO 9001 & 14000 systems
  • Strong strategic planning skills
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of computer systems; familiar with Microsoft Office products
  • Understand customers operating product needs and delivery requirements
  • Understand assembly process & manufacturing principles
  • Develop team work and unity within plant and team
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing techniques and best practices
  • Abilility to support all plant departments
  • Direct subordinates to get work done through others

Manages subordinate supervisors and team leads that supervise associates in production, and is responsible for overall production processes
