Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to be based out of Cartersville, GA and reporting to the Plant Manager, this position will be responsible for machine uptime, product and process improvement, quality control, maintaining data integrity and capital expenditure requests. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.
What you'll do:
  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities in manufacturing processes and procedures. Create standard work and work instruction as needed.
  • Engineering support for the plant operation. Supporting and collaborating with other CMNA plant operations.
  • Develop and create manufacturing drawings, visual inspections, and go/no go gauges.
  • Work closely with production team to optimize manufacturing processes and eliminate quality issues.
  • Implement change management processes.
  • Maintain and develop all product routings.
  • Direct maintenance on troubleshooting manufacturing lines and reducing machine downtime.
  • Schedule contractors and OEM's as needed for equipment repair and PM.
  • Interface with product engineering to support new product development and commercial initiatives relevant to the plant.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

What you'll bring:
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now OR in the future.
  • 1-3 years experience in Engineering. Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree (Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field is strongly preferred)
  • Aptitude in Inventor and AutoCAD
  • JD Edwards or other ERP system experience preferred
  • Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record and knowledge of technology
  • Detail Oriented
  • Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, contractors, and when submitting reports
  • Innovative problem solver
  • Experience and familiarity of our products and line of business a plus

Within 3 months, you'll:
  • Complete your Atkore immersion program.

  • Understand the plant manufacturing operation.
  • Own part routings and setup for plant.
  • Participate in a kaizen event.

Within 12 months, you'll:
  • Be a critical member of the plant team that delivers Atkore's strategy.
  • Drive improvement projects, capital spend, and asset uptime.
  • Have meaningful performance conversations with your manager.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $65,600 - $90,200. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
