Job description

Production Specialist - 1st Shift - $34.00/hour - 7:00am-3:30pm Monday thru Friday
Who we are looking for:
We are currently searching for a Production Specialist to be based out of Cartersville, GA. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this person will have responsibility for overseeing the operational aspects of the manufacturing process to ensure efficiency and quality.
Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is desired.
What you'll do:
  • Analyze production data to identify and report on process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate with quality control teams to conduct regular product inspections and ensure adherence to standards.
  • Develop and maintain detailed production reports and documentation for management review.
  • Manage the inventory of materials and tools, including staging materials for production and conducting periodic stock counts.
  • Provide technical support for production floor issues, including troubleshooting equipment malfunctions to reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and logistics personnel to ensure a consistent and efficient flow of materials.
  • Implement and monitor adherence to workplace safety protocols and regulations on the production floor.
  • Assist in the scheduling of production activities and personnel to align with output targets and deadlines.

What you'll bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of related work-experience required.
  • Computer literate in spreadsheets and work applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hands on, accountable team player with the willingness to learn as well as teach others. This position requires extensive time spent within a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of AS400, and/or JD Edwards a plus.
  • Well organized and able to process large amounts of information.

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. The manufacturing plant is not climate controlled. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and safety work shoes. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Within 3 months, you'll:
  • Complete any required training
  • Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.
  • Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $34.00/hour. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
