Plant Controller Position Summary The Plant Controller is responsible for providing financial leadership and strategic business support for manufacturing operations. This role oversees financial planning, reporting, cost management, internal controls, and operational analysis to drive business performance. Working closely with plant leadership and corporate finance, the Plant Controller develops insights, improves financial performance, and supports key business initiatives while maintaining compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Position is Onsite, located in the South-Central Kansas/Oklahoma border area and will likely pay base salary range $150k-180k base plus bonus potential, and nice benefit package. Potential for some relocation assistance. Responsibilities Prepare, analyze, and communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results to leadership, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities. This Plant Controller position will manage the plant in all of the standard costing, material, labor, overhead allocations, cost rolls, bill of materials, and planning. Develop annual operating budgets, financial forecasts, and long-range planning models that align with business objectives. Partner with operational leaders to evaluate plant performance, manufacturing costs, labor efficiency, inventory management, and profitability. Direct the monthly financial close process, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements. Conduct financial analysis for new products, capital investments, operational improvements, and other strategic business opportunities. Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and capital expenditure reporting. Monitor key financial metrics and performance indicators. Oversee inventory accounting processes, including cycle count programs, physical inventories, inventory valuation, and reconciliation activities. Maintain strong internal controls designed to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial systems, reporting capabilities, and business processes. Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members by establishing performance expectations and supporting professional growth. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. 10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including manufacturing or operations finance. Previous experience in a Controller, Plant Controller, or similar leadership role preferred. CPA, CMA, or MBA is preferred. Strong knowledge of ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.
