Job description

Planet 13 is proud to be one of the largest, most advanced and sustainable providers of medical cannabis in Florida. Our mission is to help our Florida friends and neighbors live their healthiest lives with our all-natural, sun-grown cannabis products.
We are currently looking for a Drying Facility Specialist to join our cultivation team here in St. Johns! The Drying Facility Technician is responsible for overseeing the initial phase of the post-harvest process by receiving, organizing, and monitoring harvested cannabis during the drying stage. This role ensures product is dried uniformly under optimal environmental conditions while maintaining accurate records, strict cleanliness standards, and full regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Receive and organize harvested cannabis into designated drying areas according to batch specifications.
  • Monitor and maintain drying room environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, airflow) to ensure optimal drying performance.
  • Rotate and inspect cannabis regularly to ensure even drying and prevent contamination such as mold or mildew.
  • Record batch data accurately in company software systems and logs as required.
  • Communicate with Harvest and Cure teams regarding batch status updates, transfer schedules, and production timelines.
  • Assist in weighing and tracking inventory as product moves from drying to the curing phase.
  • Report any anomalies in drying conditions promptly to management.
  • Clean and sanitize drying rooms, tools, and equipment in accordance with sanitation and safety protocols.
  • Follow and enforce safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, coveralls, and hair nets.
  • Use ladders and other tools safely to access drying racks or equipment as needed.
  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
  • Assist with the implementation of company policies, standard operating procedures, and performance standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Daily compliance with company policies including but not limited to; state/local regulation compliance, security protocols, access protocols, dress code, and work schedules.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 21 years of age or older.
  • Ability to pass drug testing and a Level 2 Florida State background check.
  • Previous cannabis post-harvest, drying, curing, or cultivation experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to monitor environmental conditions and perform repetitive tasks accurately.
  • Ability to follow written SOPs and maintain accurate documentation.
