This role supports every stage of the PJ Library book selection process, helping bring exceptional stories to hundreds of thousands of readers and families around the world.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chair of the PJ Library Book Selection Committee, the Content Associate works closely with colleagues across the Books Team to help ensure the book selection process, book-related content, data, and administrative systems are managed with excellence.
Support the PJ Library Book Selection Committee
Provide administrative and logistical support to ensure the Book Selection Committee operates efficiently throughout the book review and selection processes.
Coordinate committee meetings, including scheduling, invitations, Zoom and conference room arrangements, meeting materials, catering, and other logistical needs.
Attend Book Selection Committee meetings, take detailed notes, prepare meeting minutes, and maintain committee records and documents.
Gather, organize, distribute, order, and ship books and other materials for committee review.
Maintain and update the Book Selection Committee Dashboard and other committee resources.
Review external blogs, websites, catalogs, and other sources for books that may warrant committee consideration.
Manage the general inbox for PJ Library Book Selection Committee submissions.
Provide ongoing administrative support to the Chair of the Book Selection Committee.
Coordinate the Book Selection Process
Support the manuscript and book review and selection processes while maintaining accurate records and clear communication with internal and external partners.
Utilize internal tracking systems to maintain books with PJ Library potential.
Update relevant documents, databases, and book-selection records throughout the review process.
Maintain the archive collection of PJ Library edition books.
Coordinate the mailing of PJ Library editions to authors and illustrators.

Oversee PJ Library's Grinspoon Jewish Story Awards process by coordinating the award notifications and liaising with HGF's accounting department to ensure timely payment.

Support Book Content and Digital Resources
Help ensure PJ Library's book-related digital content and internal resources are accurate, current, and accessible.
Provide the web team with monthly book synopses, Book Selection Committee blog posts, and other book information.
Conduct quality-control reviews of book-related website content and communicate needed changes to the web team.
Maintain PJ Library's E-Library and the Book Selection Committee's "under consideration" PDF library.
Maintain Book Data and Operational Systems
Support accurate, consistent book information across Books Team systems and databases.
Maintain accurate PJ Library book, mailing, author, illustrator, publisher, and award records in Salesforce.
Record Book Selection Committee notes and other book-related information.
Coordinate with Books Team colleagues to ensure shared records are accurately and consistently maintained.
Contribute to regular CRM data entry, data cleanup, and quality-control efforts.
Build and run reports as needed.
Maintain other content databases and internal libraries used by the Books Team.
Provide Operational and Administrative Support
Provide day-to-day administrative and project support to help the Books Team operate effectively.
Manage PJ Library Book Selection Committee-related expenses and invoices in Concur.
Submit check requests related to the Grinspoon Jewish Story Awards.
Code Book Selection Committee consultant and award-related invoices.
Coordinate interdepartmental requests submitted through the Books Team Request Form and work with team members to fulfill them.
Maintain the Upcoming Book Highlights Airtable and corresponding in-office display.
Prepare monthly materials for the UK book selection team.
Help train and onboard new team members.
Contribute to Books Team projects and initiatives.
Complete additional administrative tasks and projects as needed.
Qualifications

A genuine interest in children's literature, particularly board books and picture books for children ages 0-8, and an appreciation for Jewish stories and values.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
Strong organizational and project management abilities, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
Experience with Salesforce, Submittable, Airtable, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms is a plus.
At least one year of administrative or project coordination experience is preferred.
A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting while working on a computer.
Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 15-20 pounds.
Location
This role is hybrid, with a preference for candidates who can work from our home office in Agawam, MA, where hybrid employees are expected to be onsite 60% of the time. Candidates based in the greater Boston area will also be considered, with the specific hybrid arrangements discussed based on location.
Compensation
This is a full-time, non-exempt role with a competitive hourly rate of $24.04-$27.64 per hour, equivalent to $50,000-$57,500 annually based on a 40-hour workweek, commensurate with experience.
