In the Global Products Group, we are dedicated to excellence in the design and engineering of Lam's etch and deposition products. We drive innovation to ensure our cutting-edge solutions are helping to solve the biggest challenges in the semiconductor industry.
The impact you'll make
Join Lam as an Electrical Engineer and you'll be at the forefront, designing and developing electronic solutions for advanced applications. Your role involves designing and analyzing equipment, conducting experimental tests, evaluating results to create reliable cutting-edge solutions.
In this role, you will directly contribute to The Deposition Group.
What you'll do
Design and develop complex electrical systems, sub-systems, and/or solutions, applying engineering methods to design.
Design systems compliant Lam and Industry standards (SEMI, NFPA-79, etc.)
Applies mathematical/engineering methods to electrical system designs.
Contributes to research and development efforts by collecting and analyzing data to improve electrical system designs.
Develops functional specifications for electrical/ electro-mechanical systems and power distribution components.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering design teams to design and modify custom and OEM system components.
Perform hands-on test and validation utilizing lab equipment to characterize the performance of the electrical/ electro-mechanical systems.
Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations to clearly communicate design intent, analysis, and results to diverse audiences in design reviews.
Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
Manages projects to schedules, milestones, and deliverables
Work within Lam systems for product lifecycle management: part creation, detailed documentation, release, and review processes.
Escalation support and supplier support as necessary
Who we're looking for
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience; or Master's degree with 3+ years; or equivalent work experience.
Hands-on experience in electronic circuit design (analog, digital), signal and controls theory, development and associated electrical board design, troubleshooting and validation.
Solid understanding of AC/DC Power distribution systems.
System level understanding of Electrical architecture, system integration, and applications.
Working knowledge in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and low voltage circuit design for power and control applications.
Knowledgeable in CAD tools for circuit design and simulation (e.g., PCAD, ORCAD, ZUKEN, AutoCAD, Spice).
Strong communicator: oral, written, and presentation skills in English.
Hands-on experience in electronic circuit design (analog, digital)
Experience with the design and manufacturing of cabling and harnesses
Experience in troubleshooting with problem-solving techniques like 5-why, 8D, fishbones, etc.
Solid understanding of AC/DC Power distribution systems required.
Experience in signals and controls theory required.
Has excellent system level understanding of Electrical architecture, design of IO Controllers and Applications.
Excellent working knowledge in PCB/ Low voltage circuit design for power and control applications.
Experience in the application of power and controls technologies for systems automation.
Working knowledge of applicable electrical related standards like UL, CE, IEC, SEMI
Preferred qualifications
A good working understanding of panel/display technology
o Experience with architecture, circuit, and control at the pixel level.
o Experience with the manufacturing and fabrication process at the device level.
o Calibration algorithms and methodologies.
Experience in power distribution and/or control system design of industrial manufacturing tools is preferred.
Previous experience in the design of Semiconductor Manufacturing tools
Ability to define functional requirements and execute in a dynamic team environment.
Familiar with design for serviceability, manufacturability, reliability.
Highly proficient at troubleshooting systems with tools like network sniffers, protocol analyzers, oscilloscopes, and tool logs.
Experience in troubleshooting with problem-solving techniques such as 5-why, 8D, fishbones, etc.
Excellent oral and written communication skills including technical presentations.
Experience in semiconductor industry or related (industrial, automotive, military).
Experience in power distribution and/or control system design of industrial manufacturing tools is preferred.
Able to drive functional requirements and execute in a dynamic team environment.
Familiar with design for serviceability, manufacturability, reliability, etc.
Proficient at troubleshooting systems with tools like network sniffers, protocol analyzers, and tool logs.
Practical experience with sensors, actuators, field busses (e.g. Ethernet, Serial, EtherCAT), measurement and controls technolog
