The Team:
The Vehicles and Building Sets Global Brand Team drives strategy and execution for two of Mattel's most exciting categories and the NAD Marketing Activation team leads execution of the global brand strategy in the world's largest toy market. This team is the central hub to growth in the US, which includes interacting with many cross-functional teams, overseeing the US P&L, line selecting key items to drive business growth, collaborating on media recommendations, and driving the go-to-market strategy for the US. The Marketing Manager has an essential role in driving the US business for Vehicles & Building Sets in the segments of their responsibility. They need to provide leadership on marketing, business operations, and customer management activities for the brands and product line to achieve financial growth and profit targets. A deep understanding of our consumers, business dynamics, and the most effective marketing levers will be key to driving some of the most strategic segments within the Vehicles and Building Sets categories.

Job Description

The Opportunity: 

We're looking for a Marketing Manager to drive two very exciting and strategically important areas in the world of Vehicles & Building Sets. The role will report to the Director of NAD Marketing Activation.

  • Portfolio Vehicles: Consisting of two owned IP brands with over 150 years of heritage between them, Matchbox and Thomas and Friends, as well as one of Mattel's most successful licensing partnerships, Disney-Pixar Cars.  All three brands have major relaunch and/or content milestones in 2026 and 2027.
  • Building Sets: Consisting of two separate and distinct brands, Mega Bloks, a cherished heritage brand in the IPS space and Mattel Brick Shop, an exciting new brand for adult fans which is expanding rapidly.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Manage day-to-day marketing activities, including insights collection and synthesis of performance of brands & products
  • Deliver item-level forecasting, tracking, and performance roll-ups to impact marketing strategy and financial planning
  • Drive promotional plan and execution by brand and across customers
  • Develop your brands by activating key marketing programs in the US market
  • Drive the development of US-specific product executions or bundles in collaboration with Toy Marketing for specific priority Retailers, managing P&L and full strategy.
  • Manage and coordinate special Marketing Initiatives and events to support strategic priorities
  • Drive marketing execution by leading a cross-functional team inclusive of Sales, Toy and Brand Marketing, Omnichannel Retail Marketing, etc. 
Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum 8 years' experience (6 with MBA) in consumer or brand marketing
  • Exceptional storytelling and presentation skills - you know how to sell a vision and back it with data and strategic insights
  • Advanced understanding of standard marketing techniques
  • Demonstrated leadership, strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent written/verbal, attention to details, time management and quantitative/analytical skills required
  • Ability to take conclusions from data and communicate and present actionable insights to leadership and business executives.
  • One team mentality and culture builder
  • Bachelors degree in marketing, business or related field; MBA preferred
