Job description

The Office of Business, Hospitality, and Auxiliary Services is seeking a Shift Lead to support the University's daily retail operations of the Pitt Shop, and will be responsible for opening and/or closing. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:ย 

- Delivering excellent customer service and assisting customers with merchandise selection.

- Demonstrating strong attention to accuracy and detail.

- Developing and maintaining product knowledge.ย 

- Performing basic computer data entry tasks and operating standard retail equipment. Processing a variety of transactions, including cash, checks, bank cards, Panther Funds, gift certificates/cards, University requisitions, credit memos, and bookstore accounts. Processing online sales orders.ย 

- Supervising student workers and assigning daily tasks. Ensuring student workers adhere to customer service standards.ย 

- Receiving, stocking, and merchandising products daily, and maintaining an organized sales floor.ย 

- Safely transporting items up to 50 pounds and spending extended periods moving throughout the store. - Participating in off-site events as needed.

This is a part-time position with a minimum of 22.5 hours per week, including Saturdays and Sundays, holidays, and occasional overtime hours.

A High School Diploma or GED is required. This role involves a mix of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the shift. May involve lifting or moving items weighing up to 50 lbs, with accommodations available as needed. Some tasks may require being on your feet for extended periods, and we are committed to providing reasonable adjustments to support comfort and accessibility.
