About Our Opportunity

We seek safety minded material handlers with good dexterity and attention to detail to operate Powered Industrial Truck equipment (PIT Operator) in Blairs, VA. PIT Operators contribute to production and efficient work flow within given department, including maintaining pick standards, for department through use of various powered equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assists department by selecting product for requested work.
  • Assists with troubleshooting problems within the work process and relays this information to Leads and/or Supervisor.
  • Responsible for picking/packing orders, shipping, receiving, inventory, and performing other general warehouse duties.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork for department according to specific SOP.
  • Replenishes materials ordered to stock assigned zone.
  • Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others, and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to company-wide quality and safety.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret related documents.
  • Ability to understand written and oral instruction.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Ability to multi-task and follow through on requested tasks.
  • Proficiency operating the following equipment: Turret Truck, Reach Truck, Walkie Rider, Sit-down Counterbalance, Order Picker.
  • 1 year prior experience and/or training in the distribution/manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Must attain and keep current P.I.T license.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use repetitive hand motions.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to reach overhead, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to work at heights above 30 feet.

Pay

  • We offer competitive pay based on job-related skills, experience, relevant education, training, and geographic location.
  • The starting hourly pay rate is $18.00.
  • Actual pay will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, the Company’s compensation guidelines, and business needs.
