Essential Responsibilities:
Sales & Customer Support
  • Partner with Regional Sales Managers on customer meetings, virtual calls, site visits, and technical presentations.
  • Lead all technical discussions during customer engagements.
  • Identify customer requirements and recommend appropriate AMOT solutions.
  • Clearly communicate product capabilities, operating principles, performance characteristics, limitations, and competitive advantages.
  • Support proposal development by validating technical scope, application requirements, and solution recommendations.
  • Identify technical risks and recommend appropriate solutions to advance opportunities.
  • Support strategic sales opportunities requiring advanced technical expertise.
  • Assist customers with technical troubleshooting and application support when appropriate.

Technical Expertise
  • Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of AMOT's products, applications, and technologies.
  • Develop a strong understanding of diesel engines, natural gas engines, turbines, lubrication systems, cooling systems, thermal management, and industrial process equipment.
  • Build strong working relationships with Engineering to remain current on product improvements, new developments, and future product roadmaps.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of competitor products and industry trends.
  • Become the primary technical resource for the Americas Sales organization.

Marketing Support
Support Marketing by developing technical content that strengthens AMOT's market presence and educates customers.
Examples include:

  • Product demonstrations
  • Technical training content

CRM & Documentation
Document all customer engagements within the company's CRM systems by recording:
  • Technical meeting notes and application details
  • Customer and application requirements

Internal Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Product Management, Customer Service, Operations, and Marketing to support customer opportunities.
  • Share technical knowledge with Regional Sales Managers and other members of the sales organization.
  • Conduct internal product training and application training as needed.

Performance Metrics
Performance in this role will be evaluated using a combination of qualitative and quantitative measures. Success is based not only on technical expertise but also on the ability to influence sales opportunities, support customers, collaborate across departments, and contribute to the overall success of the Americas Sales organization.
Performance metrics include, but are not limited to:
  • Participating in joint customer meetings with Regional Sales Managers utilizing the company's sales process.
  • Leading technical discussions that advance sales opportunities and build customer confidence.
  • Developing technical marketing content
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of customer interactions in CRM
  • Providing timely technical support to Regional Sales Managers and customers.

Education and Experience:
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience supporting industrial equipment, rotating equipment, valves, controls, engines, turbines, power generation equipment, or process systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to confidently present technical information to engineers, operators, purchasing personnel, executives, and other customer stakeholders.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership of technical development.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn complex technical products and applications with minimal supervision.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using CRM platforms, including Pipedrive and Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Preferred
  • Experience supporting an industrial technical sales organization.
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, natural gas engines, turbines, lubrication systems, cooling systems, thermal management, and industrial process equipment.
  • Experience supporting customers within the Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Marine, Rail, Mining, and Industrial Process markets.
  • Experience presenting technical training or conducting customer seminars.

Travel Requirements:
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30-50% as business needs require.
  • Must be able to travel by commercial airline and possess the ability to obtain and maintain all necessary documentation required for domestic and international business travel.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel overnight for customer meetings, trade shows, training events, and internal meetings.
