What is a Pinterest Creator?

A Pinterest Creator is someone who produces original, engaging content specifically for Pinterest’s platform, such as Idea Pins, images, and videos. These creators use their expertise in areas like fashion, DIY, cooking, or travel to inspire and inform Pinterest users. They often collaborate with brands or monetize their content through affiliate links and sponsorships. Pinterest offers tools and analytics to help creators grow their audience and track engagement on their Pins.

What are some common challenges Pinterest creators face when building an engaged audience, and how can they overcome them?

Pinterest Creators often face challenges such as standing out in a visually crowded platform, keeping up with changing algorithms, and consistently producing high-quality, original content. To overcome these hurdles, it's important to research trending topics, utilize Pinterest analytics to understand what resonates with your audience, and maintain a consistent posting schedule. Engaging with the Pinterest community through comments and collaborations can also help expand your reach and foster loyal followers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Pinterest creator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Pinterest Creator, you need a strong grasp of visual content creation, branding, and audience engagement, often supported by experience in graphic design or digital marketing. Familiarity with design tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and Pinterest Analytics is typically required. Creativity, trend awareness, and strong communication skills help you stand out by producing compelling, shareable content. These skills are vital for building a loyal audience, driving traffic, and growing your influence on the platform.

Do Pinterest creators get paid?

Pinterest creators can earn money through the platform by promoting products, participating in affiliate marketing, or collaborating with brands. Payment is typically based on engagement, sales, or sponsored content, and creators often use analytics tools to track their earnings.

How do you become a Pinterest Creator?

To become a Pinterest Creator, you need to build a strong profile by regularly creating and sharing high-quality, engaging pins that align with popular trends. Successful creators often use Pinterest's Creator Rewards program, optimize their content with relevant keywords, and maintain consistency to grow their audience and increase visibility.

Job description

About Pinterest:
Millions of people around the world come to our platform to find creative ideas, dream about new possibilities and plan for memories that will last a lifetime. At Pinterest, we're on a mission to bring everyone the inspiration to create a life they love, and that starts with the people behind the product.
Discover a career where you ignite innovation for millions, transform passion into growth opportunities, celebrate each other's unique experiences and embrace the flexibility to do your best work. Creating a career you love? It's Possible.
At Pinterest, AI isn't just a feature, it's a powerful partner that augments our creativity and amplifies our impact, and we're looking for candidates who are excited to be a part of that. To get a complete picture of your experience and abilities, we'll explore your foundational skills and how you collaborate with AI.
Through our interview process, what matters most is that you can always explain your approach, showing us not just what you know, but how you think. You can read more about our AI interview philosophy and how we use AI in our recruiting process here.
Pinterest is uniquely positioned across the full consumer journey-from inspiration and discovery through consideration, planning, and action. Creators bring ideas to life, Pinners signal emerging interests and intent, and advertisers help people act on what inspires them. This role will define how Pinterest measures that flywheel, helping advertisers understand how Pinterest and its creators build awareness and drive business outcomes, while helping creators understand the value they generate and unlock new opportunities with brands.
The ideal candidate is a Staff-level product leader with substantial ads measurement experience and a deep understanding of how advertisers set objectives, deploy tactics across the full funnel, and evaluate outcomes. They have worked cross-functionally with engineering, data science, research, PMM, sales, and other partners and can translate complex measurement methods into credible, useful, and scalable products.
What you'll do:
  • Own the strategy and end-to-end execution for demonstrating the full-funnel value of Pinterest, including the creator-Pinner-advertiser flywheel. Define the vision for new and existing measurement capabilities and translate advertiser and creator needs into clear product and technical requirements. Create and deliver a multi-quarter roadmap, aligning data foundations, measurement methodologies, experimentation, privacy guardrails, and customer-facing experiences to drive measurable creator, advertiser, and Pinner outcomes.
  • Partner day-to-day with engineering, data science/analytics, design, and research to deliver high-quality products; collaborate with PMM, sales, partnerships, legal, privacy, and policy/integrity for launches. Work closely with PM peers across Ads, Creators, Content, and Shopping to manage dependencies, align measurement frameworks and experiment design, coordinate GTM, and incorporate customer feedback.
  • Build new and iterate on measurement products that help advertisers understand how creator content, organic engagement, and paid media contribute across awareness, consideration, intent, conversion, and longer-term value. Enable creators to understand the value they generate for brands and identify new business opportunities. Define success metrics and validation standards up front, track adoption and quality post-launch, and use insights to update the roadmap.

What we're looking for:
  • 8+ years of experience working as a Product Manager or in a related role, including 3-5+ years of substantial ads or marketing measurement experience.
  • Strong evidence of the ability to define new products and strategies in an ambiguous space and execute from ideation and multi-quarter roadmaps through go-to-market and adoption.
  • Deep understanding of the full marketing funnel and how advertisers set objectives, deploy tactics, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Experience working with engineering, data science, analytics, research, or PMM cross-functional teams and a strong ability to empathize with, anticipate the needs of, and collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • Strong quantitative judgment and understanding of attribution, incrementality, experimentation, brand lift, conversion lift, and measurement tradeoffs.
  • Deep understanding of business metrics and tradeoffs in the context of online platforms or multi-sided ecosystems.
  • Preferred but not required: Experience with creator, influencer, branded-content, social, video, commerce, or organic-and-paid measurement.
  • Preferred but not required: Experience building advertiser-facing measurement products or working with advertisers, agencies, creators, marketing science teams, or measurement partners.
  • Preferred but not required: Technical degree in CS/Statistics/Math/Engineering/Economics.
  • Preferred but not required: Experience designing, running, or analyzing incrementality or lift experiments.

In-Office Requirement Statement:
  • We recognize that the ideal environment for work is situational and may differ across departments. What this looks like day-to-day can vary based on the needs of each organization or role.
  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/quarter and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.

Relocation Statement:
  • This position is not eligible for relocation assistance. Visit our PinFlex page to learn more about our working model.
