Are you obsessed with beauty, social media, and the culture happening online? Do you know how to spot a TikTok trend early, turn it into compelling branded content, and create a hook that makes people stop scrolling?

Aquent is partnering with a leading global beauty company to find a Social Media & Content Creator who will help shape how a beloved beauty brand connects with consumers across social. This is a highly hands-on role for someone who can think strategically, create engaging content, move quickly, and understand what makes beauty content resonate online.

About the Role

We are looking for a social-native content creator who lives and breathes beauty, internet culture, and emerging social trends. You will play a key role in developing and executing social content across multiple beauty franchises, partnering closely with brand, creative, agency, and influencer teams.

This is not a purely community management or social publishing role. Content creation is a core part of the position. We are looking for someone who can take an idea from trend identification → concept → hook → filming → editing → publishing → performance analysis.

The ideal candidate understands how to make content feel native to TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube rather than simply repurposing traditional brand advertising for social.

What You'll Do

• Create social-first content for TikTok, Instagram Reels/Stories, YouTube Shorts, and other emerging platforms, including lo-fi video, photography, behind-the-scenes content, trend-driven content, and live/event coverage.
• Identify emerging beauty, cultural, creator, and platform trends and quickly translate them into relevant brand opportunities.
• Develop compelling hooks, concepts, captions, and platform-native storytelling designed to stop the scroll and drive engagement.
• Film and edit content using mobile devices and editing tools, with the ability to work comfortably both in front of and behind the camera.
• Own content development from ideation through post-production, collaborating with brand teams, creators, influencers, agencies, and subject-matter experts.
• Contribute to social content strategy across multiple beauty franchises, balancing immediate cultural opportunities with broader brand and product priorities.
• Build, manage, and execute the social content calendar in alignment with marketing initiatives, product launches, influencer activations, and key cultural moments.
• Monitor social conversations, search behavior, competitive activity, and creator trends to identify opportunities for real-time content.
• Serve as a social copywriter, creating concise, engaging, platform-specific copy that reflects the brand's voice.
• Draft creative briefs for agencies and creators and help guide content development to ensure assets are strategically aligned with social best practices.
• Experiment with emerging platforms, formats, AI tools, and creative techniques to develop more effective and engaging content.
• Monitor content performance and social KPIs using native platform analytics and social listening tools, translating results into actionable learnings for future content.
• Partner with customer care, advocacy, marketing, digital, retailer, and agency teams to ensure a cohesive consumer experience.
• Support social giveaways and activations, including rules, winner selection, outreach, fulfillment, and related administrative needs.

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Qualifications

• 1–3 years of hands-on social media and content creation experience, including agency, in-house, publisher, creator, or brand experience.
• A recent college graduate or early-career social professional with a genuine passion for beauty, personal care, creators, and internet culture.
• Demonstrated ability to create social content from concept through final edit—not simply manage a content calendar or publish content created by others.
• Strong understanding of what makes content successful on TikTok, Instagram Reels/Stories, and YouTube Shorts, including trends, hooks, editing styles, pacing, sounds, formats, and audience behavior.
• Ability to spot trends and quickly turn them into relevant, engaging content.
• Strong video editing skills using mobile or desktop editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or similar platforms.
• Exceptional writing skills and the ability to create compelling hooks, captions, and social copy in a distinct brand voice.
• Strong visual instincts and an understanding of how to make beauty content feel native, current, authentic, and culturally relevant.
• Strategic thinker who can connect individual pieces of content to broader brand, campaign, and business objectives.
• Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, managing multiple franchises, priorities, and content opportunities simultaneously.
• Highly collaborative, adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable receiving feedback and iterating quickly.
• Willingness to travel for events and content opportunities as needed.

• Personal TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or other social accounts

• Examples of trend-driven content
• Examples demonstrating strong hooks, editing, storytelling, or visual execution
• Content where you were responsible for ideation, filming, editing, and/or publishing

A large personal following is NOT required. We are more interested in the quality of your content, your creative instincts, your ability to understand social culture, and your hands-on execution skills.

If you have a personal social account that showcases your content creation abilities, please include it—even if it is a small or emerging account.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Beauty, skincare, haircare, cosmetics, or personal care experience.
• Experience working with beauty creators, influencers, or talent.
• Agency experience supporting high-volume social content.
• Familiarity with social listening and management platforms.
• Experience with social analytics and performance reporting.
• Experience using AI tools for content ideation, image generation, editing, or creative development.
• On-camera experience or comfort appearing in social content.
• Experience supporting product launches, influencer campaigns, events, or real-time social activations.
