Pilates Assistant information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Pilates Assistant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Pilates Assistant, you need a solid understanding of Pilates principles, basic anatomy, and often a relevant certification or completion of a Pilates training course. Familiarity with Pilates equipment, studio management software, and basic first aid is typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to motivate and support clients are important soft skills in this role. These skills ensure safe, effective sessions, a positive client experience, and smooth studio operations.

How does a Pilates Assistant typically collaborate with instructors and clients during classes?

Pilates Assistants play a key support role by helping instructors set up equipment, demonstrating basic exercises, and ensuring class participants are comfortable and safe. They often assist with client check-ins, answer questions about class procedures, and provide modifications or props under the instructor’s guidance. Effective communication and a friendly attitude are essential, as assistants help foster a welcoming environment and contribute to smooth class operations.

What are Pilates Assistants?

Pilates Assistants are support professionals who help certified Pilates instructors during classes or private sessions. Their responsibilities may include setting up equipment, demonstrating exercises, assisting clients with proper form, and maintaining a safe studio environment. While they are not typically certified to lead classes independently, Pilates Assistants play a vital role in ensuring smooth class operations and enhancing the client experience. They may also help with administrative tasks or provide customer service at the studio.

What is the 80/20 rule in Pilates?

The 80/20 rule in Pilates suggests that approximately 80% of results come from 20% of efforts, emphasizing focusing on key exercises and proper technique to maximize effectiveness. Pilates instructors and assistants often encourage clients to prioritize quality over quantity during sessions. Understanding this principle helps in designing efficient workouts and ensuring proper form for injury prevention.

Assistant Studio Manager - BODYBAR Pilates Exton, PA Part-Time | 24-30 hours/week | $25-$28/hour
About BODYBAR Pilates BODYBAR Pilates is a fast-growing boutique fitness franchise delivering dynamic, results-driven Pilates through our signature BODYBAR method. We're opening our Exton, PA studio at The Shops on Eagleview Boulevard - a high-traffic, high-income market with a built-in audience of health-conscious professionals and families. This is a brand-new studio with real membership momentum and a team that's building something from the ground up.
The Role We're looking for an energetic, people-first leader to join the BODYBAR Pilates Exton team as our Assistant Studio Manager. You'll be a true face of the studio - leading member experiences, driving membership sales, and supporting studio operations alongside our Studio Manager. This isn't a back-office role. You'll be front and center, representing the BODYBAR brand with confidence and enthusiasm during your shifts.
This role is right for you if you're motivated by results, love connecting with people, and want a leadership opportunity with the flexibility of part-time hours.
What You'll Do
  • Serve as the face of BODYBAR Pilates during your shifts - welcoming members, leading studio tours, and creating an exceptional first impression for every prospect
  • Drive membership sales through outbound calls, walk-in tours, and community events
  • Follow up with leads consistently and with genuine enthusiasm
  • Support grassroots marketing and local outreach efforts
  • Assist with day-to-day studio operations: check-ins, scheduling, retail, and keeping the studio polished and guest-ready
  • Report on sales activity and pipeline progress to the Studio Manager
  • Step up and lead independently when the Studio Manager is off-site

What You Bring
  • 2+ years in fitness, wellness, hospitality, luxury retail, or service sales
  • A track record of hitting targets and following through on commitments
  • Enough presence and confidence to represent the brand independently during your shifts
  • Strong communicator - in person, on the phone, and in writing
  • Self-motivated and comfortable taking ownership without being managed closely
  • Comfortable with technology and quick to pick up new systems
  • A genuine passion for fitness and helping people reach their goals

What We Offer
  • $25-$28/hour based on experience
  • Free unlimited BODYBAR Pilates membership
  • BODYBAR apparel discount
  • Flexible scheduling designed around your availability
  • Clear growth path - for the right person, a full-time leadership role is on the table as the studio scales
  • Ground-floor opportunity at a brand-new studio in a high-demand market

Why Exton? The Eagleview corridor is one of Chester County's strongest markets - high household income, a dense professional population, and a community that's ready for BODYBAR. You'll be selling something people in this area genuinely want.
To Apply If you're a natural leader who thrives in a fitness environment, knows how to connect with people, and can close - we want to meet you.
Compensation: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
