Practice Description:  

  • Urgent Care Locations:  American Canyon, Benicia, Dixon, Rio Vista, Winters, Vacaville, Fairfield CA 
  • Hours of business: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Saturday , Sundays, Weekends 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Inpatient/Outpatient Responsibilities: Outpatient only
  • Call Ratio: Balanced call ratio shared among physicians and sites
  • Daily Patient Census:  Average 20-40 patients per day
  • Equipment/Resources: Access to state-of-the-art medical equipment and comprehensive resources
  • Provider Support: Collaborative team of physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Consult with patients to assess urgent care needs and determine appropriate treatment plans
  • Recommend and order diagnostic tests to evaluate illnesses and injuries
  • Monitor lab results and medication adherence
  • Prescribe treatments, therapies, medications, and vaccinations as necessary
  • Educate patients and families on procedures, test results, and treatment options
  • Refer patients to specialists when needed
  • Actively participate in hospital committees and initiatives
  • Collaborate with and supervise APPs to enhance patient care

Compensation Structure

NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1-5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.

NorthBay Health is primarily an onsite organization due to the nature of healthcare. Some roles may allow hybrid or remote work based on business needs.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board-certified in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or a related field
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the state of California
  • Proven experience in urgent care or emergency medicine settings
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Income Guarantee at $354,000
  • Full-time: 15 shifts per month - 1 shift: 10 hours  
  • APP Supervision: $12,000 per year per 1.0 FTE APP
  • Signing Bonus: up to $30,000
  • Retention Bonus (beginning at the completion of the 2nd year): up to $30,000 per year
  • Relocation bonus: Up to $10,000 (based on location)
  • Emphasis on positive work-life balance
  • 0.5 -1.0 FTE Physicians eligible for comprehensive benefits, including Health, Dental, PTO, Sick Pay, Retirement Options.
