What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Photography Sales, and why are they important?

To thrive in Photography Sales, you need a solid understanding of photographic products, sales techniques, and customer service principles, often supported by experience in retail or sales roles. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems, photo editing software, and point-of-sale (POS) systems is typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, persuasive communication, and the ability to build rapport set top performers apart. These skills are essential for effectively connecting with clients, driving sales, and ensuring customer satisfaction in a competitive market.

What are some common challenges faced in a Photography Sales role and how can they be addressed?

One common challenge in Photography Sales is managing client expectations regarding pricing and deliverables, as clients may not always understand the value behind professional photography services. Sales professionals often need to educate clients about the creative and technical work involved, while also negotiating packages that meet both client needs and business goals. Additionally, staying organized with follow-ups and maintaining strong relationships with both new and returning clients is crucial to success. Proactive communication, clear proposals, and ongoing client engagement are effective ways to address these challenges.

What are photography sales?

Earn guaranteed hourly pay plus commission. Top-performing Photography Sales Managers regularly earn $30-$35/hour or more through photography sales, team performance, and operational excellence.

Are you a leader who enjoys coaching teams, driving sales results, and building strong business relationships? Do you have photography experience or a passion for visual storytelling? Mom365 is seeking a Photography Sales Manager to lead a team of up to 20 photographers across up to 8 hospital locations, drive sales performance, develop future leaders, and strengthen hospital partnerships while helping families preserve their baby's first moments through professional newborn photography.

This role combines leadership, sales, customer experience, training, and operational oversight. The ideal candidate is a people leader first—someone who enjoys developing others, building relationships, managing multiple priorities, and delivering results across a multi-site operation.

  • Recruit, train, onboard, and mentor new photographers.
  • Drive photography sales performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital leadership and staff across multiple hospital partnerships.
  • Manage daily operations, scheduling, staffing, and performance expectations across multiple hospital locations.
  • Ensure compliance with company, hospital, and safety requirements.
  • Photograph newborn babies and their families, creating lasting memories.
  • Deliver a warm, professional, and compassionate experience for every family.

Who We're Looking For

Successful candidates often come from backgrounds such as:

  • Photography Studio Manager
  • Portrait Studio Manager
  • Retail Store Manager or Assistant Manager
  • Wedding or Portrait Photography Business Owner
  • Hospitality Manager
  • Sales Manager or Team Lead
  • Trainer, Coach, or Mentor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
  • Experience hiring, training, coaching, or developing employees.
  • Experience leading remote, multi-site, or geographically dispersed teams preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple locations, departments, or business units preferred.
  • Strong sales, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
  • Photography experience preferred, especially portrait, studio, family, newborn, or event photography.
  • Experience managing business operations, scheduling, staffing, or performance metrics.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working independently in a hospital environment.
  • Ability to safely handle newborns and photography equipment.
  • Reliable transportation and availability to work weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to perform moderate physical activity and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings.
  • Ability to meet hospital compliance requirements.

Why Join Mom365?

  • Guaranteed hourly pay plus commission opportunities.
  • Top performers regularly earn $30-$35/hour or more.
  • Opportunity to lead a multi-site operation serving up to 8 hospitals and supporting up to 20 photographers.
  • Camera equipment provided.
  • Fully paid training and ongoing leadership development.
  • Opportunities for career advancement.
  • Flexible scheduling options.
  • Paid medical screening.
  • Vacation and sick leave.
  • Referral programs.
  • 401(k) and additional benefits.

At Mom365, you'll have the opportunity to lead a team, build meaningful hospital partnerships, develop future leaders, and help families preserve some of life's most important memories.
