Job description

The Machine Operator maintains operations in the production of customer product to be shipped.  The Machine Operator will operate production equipment, monitor its operation, inspect the product produced meets requirements, produce retain samples where required, package the product and record work activity on production documentation.  The Machine Operator will clean the equipment at the completion of a production order. 

Essential Functions:

  • Carry out production, inspection, packaging and machine operation duties
  • Effectively monitor production equipment and report issues to Shift Leadman.
  • Set up machinery and ensure all materials are readily available
  • Check parts to meets specifications and report discrepancies to Shift Leadman.  .
  • Perform secondary operation on the parts as required on setup sheet.
  • Package and palletize the finished parts as required on the setup sheet.
  • Blend colorant into raw materials if required on setup sheet.
  • Fill hopper with raw materials
  • Regrind materials and place in labeled box.
  • Clean up equipment (grinders, saws, cutters, vacuum loaders, etc…) at the end of a job run.
  • Obtain retain samples as required.
  • Record quantities produced on the setup sheet.
  • Perform appropriate duties as assigned by management
  • Maintain a safe and clean work space
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Retrieve material from the warehouse as needed.
  • Assist with loading trucks with materials and finished goods.
  • Use of a forklift to retrieve and move materials and finished goods.
  • Clean up the extrusion area at the end of the shift.
