Position Overview
This is an entry-level organizing position that provides career-building opportunities within the broader progressive movement.
Canvassers will work directly with the Kenai Field Manager, Chief Operations Officer, and program staff to interact with Alaskans on key political and civic issues including, but not limited to, social justice, conservation, equal rights, and fair elections. Typical work hours fall within 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with some weekend requirements. Schedules may shift depending on campaign needs. Compensation: Canvassers start at a base rate of $23/HR for remote Phone Canvassing and databasing work; $28/HR for in person Door Canvassing and Event Support.
General Duties

  • Follow procedures and policies outlined in The Mobilization Center Employee Manual and Employee Handbook
  • Ensure confidentiality and professionalism are maintained at all times

The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Be comfortable with active listening and navigating challenging conversations respectfully
  • Be independent, accountable, and honest in their work
  • Be comfortable using technology and performing basic data entry

Employment Terms
