Direct Supervisor: Department Chair
FTE: 100%
Appointment Type: Tenure-track
Title/Rank: Associate Professor or Assistant Professor
Primary Location: OU Health Campus in Oklahoma City, OK
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Include research and teaching in the Rehabilitation Sciences (RS) Department, including chairing and serving on dissertation committees, graduate course instruction, mentorship to professional, graduate, and post-professional students, and conducting extramurally funded research.
  • The successful candidate will devote approximately 70% effort to research, with expectations to develop and sustain an externally funded research program aligned with the Department's mission and NIH or equivalent funding priorities.
  • Position will contribute to the strategic growth of RS research within OU Health's integrated academic medical system and advance the RS PhD program through leadership, mentoring, and development of externally funded collaborative research.

Research/Scholarship:
  • Establish an organized, viable, and funded research agenda using internal and external collaborations and resources.
  • Maintain a consistent record of research dissemination activities to include publications and presentations through local, national, and international opportunities.
  • Mentor professional and post-professional students in research activities.

Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required
  • PhD in rehabilitation science or a related discipline (e.g., physical therapy, occupational therapy, gerontology, nursing, movement science, kinesiology, neuroscience, public health, or other fields relevant to rehabilitation).
  • Experience in grant writing and management
  • Teaching experience in higher education
  • Publication records in related fields

Preferences (Not Required)
  • Experience with teaching in graduate programs.
  • Evidence of successful mentoring of PhD students, MS students
