Some states or employers may require completion of formal training programs or certification exams before fully qualifying.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Pharmacy Technician, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Pharmacy Technician, you need a solid understanding of pharmaceutical terminology, medication dispensing, and inventory management, usually supported by a high school diploma and formal pharmacy technician training or certification. Familiarity with pharmacy management systems, prescription processing software, and knowledge of regulatory compliance are commonly required. These skills and qualifications are crucial to maintain patient safety, support pharmacists, and ensure efficient pharmacy operations.

Can you be trained on-the-job for pharmacy technician?

Pharmacy technician training can include on-the-job experience, but most states require completion of a formal training program or certification before working independently.
