Job description

As our Pharmacy Assistant, you will perform general clerical duties essential to supporting the day-to-day operations of the assigned pharmacy. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining an efficient and organized environment.
Every day, you will engage in a variety of tasks including typing prescription labels, accurate filing, data entry into computer systems, stocking and delivering supplies, and answering phones. You will also perform charge and credit functions, and may pre-package and label drugs for subsequent dispensing. Furthermore, you are accountable for maintaining your knowledge of internal policies and procedures and assisting with the on-boarding of new team members.
To be successful in this role, you will possess strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to supporting pharmacy operations. Your ability to efficiently manage multiple clerical tasks, your commitment to accuracy in all duties, and your willingness to contribute to team knowledge will be essential in ensuring the smooth functioning of the pharmacy.

  • Assists with medication packaging, labeling, prepackaging, counting, pouring, and prescription preparation in accordance with Board of Pharmacy regulations for pharmacist review.
  • Supports inventory management by requisitioning, stocking, replenishing, rotating, returning, and inspecting medications for outdates and proper storage in the pharmacy and IV room.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of pharmacy workspaces, storage areas, conference rooms, and break areas.
  • Provides clerical and operational support, including answering and transferring calls, data entry, filing, charging and crediting functions, and preparing daily statistics.

  • Any combination of experience and education that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities, upon hire
  • Certificate Other Active Pharmacy Assistant certification in good standing within one year of hire into the position, if required by State Board of Pharmacy, 12 - months.
