Job description

A night shift pharmacist opportunity is available at a specialized children’s hospital in Pflugerville, TX. This travel assignment starts ASAP and offers a 6-month duration, with the potential to transition to a day shift role later in the year. The shift schedule is 7 days on, 7 days off, working from 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM, providing a unique work-life balance tailored to night hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense and verify medications accurately within a pediatric hospital setting
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective pharmaceutical care for inpatient pediatric patients
  • Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for medication management and documentation
  • Monitor patient responses and adjust medication regimens as needed
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and pharmacy regulations

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current TX pharmacist license is required
  • Proven experience with EPIC electronic medical record system
  • Proficiency in inpatient pharmacy operations
  • Pediatric pharmacy experience is highly preferred, enhancing care quality for children
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills within interdisciplinary teams
