Prodware Solutions LLC is seeking a local contract Hospital Pharmacist for a local contract job in Houston, Texas.

Schedule Notes: Night Shift – 7 shifts/ 7 shifts off-  7:30pm to 7:30am

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist to join the pharmacy team at Texas Children's Hospital. The pharmacist will promote safe and effective pharmaceutical care by reviewing medication orders, preventing and resolving medication-related issues, and ensuring accurate medication preparation and dispensing. The ideal candidate will have recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience, strong sterile compounding knowledge, and excellent clinical judgment.

Key Responsibilities

Review and verify medication orders for accuracy, dosing, allergies, drug interactions, and patient-specific factors.

Accurately enter and verify medication orders in the pharmacy system.

Ensure safe preparation, dispensing, and delivery of medications in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Perform sterile compounding using USP <797> guidelines and maintain strict aseptic technique.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy.

Identify, prevent, and resolve medication-related problems while promoting patient safety.

Supervise and support pharmacy technicians in medication preparation and workflow.

Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all hospital, state, and federal regulations.

Participate in quality improvement and medication safety initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D.

Active Texas Pharmacist (RPH) License.

Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience.

Experience with sterile medication preparation and IV compounding.

Strong knowledge of medication safety, dosing calculations, and drug interactions.

Excellent communication, clinical decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

20 hours of ACPE or ASHP-accredited sterile compounding training.

Experience in pediatric or acute care hospital pharmacy.

Familiarity with hospital pharmacy information systems and electronic medication order entry.

Knowledge of USP <797> and USP <800> standards.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. Active Texas Pharmacist (RPH) License. Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience.
