Pharmacist

Location: Houston, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $71.00/hour

Schedule: Night Shift - 7 shifts on / 7 shifts off | 7:30 PM - 7:30 AM

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a highly skilled and patient-focused Pharmacist to support a leading healthcare system in Houston, TX. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced hospital pharmacist who is passionate about medication safety, clinical excellence, and delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care. You will play a vital role in ensuring the safe preparation, verification, and dispensing of medications while collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and process medication orders to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and patient safety
  • Evaluate medication therapy based on patient diagnosis, allergies, weight, body surface area, drug interactions, and clinical guidelines
  • Prepare and dispense medications accurately while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
  • Compound sterile medications using aseptic technique and infection prevention protocols
  • Monitor medication therapy and identify, prevent, and resolve potential drug-related problems
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication management and patient care
  • Ensure timely processing and delivery of medications to support patient treatment and departmental turnaround goals
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record and pharmacy information systems
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, medication safety programs, and regulatory compliance activities
  • Support pharmacy operations while maintaining exceptional customer service and professional standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required
  • Current, unrestricted Texas Registered Pharmacist (RPH) license required
  • Minimum 2 years of hospital pharmacist experience preferred
  • Experience with sterile medication preparation and aseptic compounding preferred
  • Completion of 20 hours of ACPE- or ASHP-accredited sterile compounding training preferred
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, medication safety, and hospital pharmacy operations
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment
