Responsibilities (What you’ll do as the Staff Pharmacist)
- Provide day-to-day pharmaceutical care and pharmacist oversight for safe, compliant dispensing
- Review and verify prescriptions prior to dispensing; resolve questionable or incomplete orders
- Supervise and support Pharmacy Technicians to ensure efficient workflow and compliance with State Board of Pharmacy requirements
- Ensure strong adherence to pharmacy law, policy, and quality standards in a high-volume pharmacy setting
- Communicate with patients, prescribers, clinics, and healthcare providers to clarify therapy and resolve issues
- Maintain compliant medication storage, handling, security, and documentation per regulations and site standards
- Support operations tied to fulfillment and order movement, including coordination around shipping logistics as needed
- Stay current on required continuing education (CE) and maintain active licensure in good standing
- Prioritize workload, execute quickly, and maintain accuracy under pressure
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacist (RPh) license in good standing (required)
- PharmD or graduate of an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy (or foreign pharmacy graduate equivalent)
- Proven experience in high-volume prescription verification and pharmacist clinical decision-making
- Prior experience supervising/checking technician work and ensuring compliant workflow
- Strong attention to detail, sound clinical judgment, and a compliance-first mindset
- Preferred keywords: Medicare Part D, PBM, prior authorizations, DUR, pharmacy automation, centralized verification, specialty pharmacy, regulated pharmacy operations, NABP standards
