Job description

About AssistRx
AssistRx is a market-leading healthcare technology company focused on accelerating patient access to life-changing therapies. Through our advanced platform and patient support ecosystem, we partner with pharmaceutical manufacturers, specialty pharmacies, and providers to remove barriers to therapy initiation and adherence.
Our solutions-including iAssist®, Hub Lite™, Prior Authorization, Benefits Verification, Copay, and Patient Assistance Programs (PAP)-power the end-to-end patient journey from prescription to therapy fulfillment.
At AssistRx, we combine technology, domain expertise, and patient-centric design to deliver measurable outcomes for both patients and life sciences partners.
About the Role
We are seeking a Product Manager with deep life sciences and patient access expertise to lead the strategy and evolution of our Patient Assistance Program (PAP) and Free Goods dispensing capabilities.
This is a high-impact, domain-driven role requiring strong experience in pharma hub services, PAP program design, and free drug fulfillment workflows. You will play a critical role in shaping how patients access therapies when affordability is a barrier-working closely with manufacturers, specialty pharmacies, and internal operations teams.
You will own the end-to-end product strategy and execution for PAP and related patient support offerings-balancing compliance, operational complexity, and patient experience while delivering scalable, tech-enabled solutions.
What You'll Own
Product Strategy & Domain Leadership
  • Define and execute the product vision and roadmap for PAP and Free Goods dispensing solutions
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in patient access, with a focus on eligibility, enrollment, and fulfillment workflows
  • Align product strategy with manufacturer brand goals, regulatory requirements, and patient affordability challenges

PAP / Free Goods Program Innovation
  • Design and optimize workflows for:
  • Patient eligibility & enrollment
  • Income verification & documentation management
  • Free drug ordering, dispensing, and replenishment
  • Compliance tracking and audit readiness (GxP / GDP awareness)
  • Partner with specialty pharmacies and distribution partners to improve fulfillment efficiency and patient time-to-therapy

Customer & Market Insight
  • Collaborate with pharma clients, field teams, and operations to deeply understand PAP program structures, KPIs, and pain points
  • Translate complex program requirements into scalable, configurable product solutions
  • Monitor competitive landscape across hub providers, PAP vendors, and digital health platforms

Cross-Functional Execution
  • Partner with Engineering, UX, Data, Clinical, Compliance, and Operations to deliver high-impact solutions
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA, regulatory standards, and manufacturer-specific program requirements
  • Drive alignment across stakeholders in a highly matrixed environment

Product Lifecycle Ownership
  • Own full lifecycle: discovery → requirements → build → launch → optimization
  • Define KPIs such as: Time to therapy, PAP approval rates, Patient adherence, and Program utilization
  • Use data to continuously improve product performance and patient outcomes

Client Engagement & Thought Leadership
  • Act as a trusted advisor to pharmaceutical clients
  • Support implementations, workshops, and QBRs
  • Translate product capabilities into clear business value and outcomes

Execution Excellence
  • Lead Agile delivery: backlog prioritization, sprint planning, roadmap execution
  • Write high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and business requirements
  • Leverage tools such as Jira, Confluence, Aha!, Productboard

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of Product Management experience, preferably in healthcare technology or B2B SaaS
  • Direct experience in life sciences/pharma services, specifically: Patient Support Programs (PSPs), Patient Assistance Programs (PAP) and/or Free Goods / free drug dispensing workflows
  • Strong understanding of Hub services (benefits verification, PA, copay, PAP)
  • Strong understanding of Specialty pharmacy and manufacturer ecosystems
  • Experience working in regulated environments (HIPAA, GxP, GDP, etc.)
  • Proven ability to translate complex operational workflows into scalable product solutions
  • Strong stakeholder management and client-facing experience
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Pharmaceutical manufacturers or hub service providers
  • Experience with Specialty pharmacies or distribution networks
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR integrations, claims data, and patient-level data workflows
  • Familiarity with FHIR / HL7 interoperability standards
  • Experience with Digital patient engagement tools (apps, portals, messaging)
  • Experience with Outcomes reporting and analytics dashboards
  • Experience with Automation or AI-driven workflow optimization
  • MBA or advanced degree in healthcare, business, or life sciences

Why This Role Stands Out
  • Own a mission-critical product area directly impacting patient access to therapy
  • Work at the intersection of technology, healthcare, and real-world patient outcomes
  • Influence strategy with top pharmaceutical manufacturers
  • Solve complex, meaningful problems in affordability and access

Benefits
  • Supportive, progressive, fast-paced environment
  • Competitive pay structure
  • Matching 401(k) with immediate vesting
  • Medical, dental, vision, life, & short-term disability insurance
  • Opportunity to impact patient outcomes through data-driven healthcare technology.
  • Collaborative and mission-driven culture that values innovation and continuous learning.
  • Access to cutting-edge cloud technologies and modern data engineering tools.
  • Competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and career growth opportunities
