Job description

Job Summary:
PharmaEssentia is a rapidly growing biopharmaceutical innovator focused on delivering effective new biologics for challenging diseases. The Associate Director, Data Strategy will lead enterprise data strategy, governance, and master data management capabilities while partnering with cross-functional teams to optimize the data environment and evolve field reporting capabilities.
Responsibilities:
• Define and lead the design and redesign of PharmaEssentia’s commercial data strategy.
• Serve as a strategic thought partner to Commercial and non-Commercial leaders by developing, analyzing, and implementing action plans that evolve the data environment.
• Ownership of MDM, the data warehouse and related systems through vendor partnerships, including ongoing evaluation of future improvements.
• Develop the enterprise approach by assessing current integrations, improving data flow, and reducing manual interventions.
• Ensure alignment of structured customer data across CRM and the data warehouse for reporting and advanced analytics.
• Enable scalable integration of the CRM backend data, specialty pharmacy, claims, payer, field activity, digital engagement, and omnichannel data sources.
• Analyze a variety of data sources, including specialty pharmacy and specialty distribution (SP/SD) data, to generate insights and actionable recommendations.
• Partner with Compliance to ensure alignment with data requirements and AI/LLM governance standards.
• Lead the development of scalable analytical solutions for recurring analyses, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve business operations and efficiency.
• Own and drive adoption of dashboards and reporting platforms for both field and headquarters teams.
• Manage relationships with third-party data providers (e.g. Beghou, ZS, Komodo, Veeva), including budget ownership and quarterly business reviews.
• Bring experience in the life sciences industry, with a strong understanding of pharmaceutical data and analytics needs.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data strategy, data management, governance, and data platforms.
• Strong analytical and technical skills, including SQL, R, SAS, or Python, as well as Microsoft Excel and Snowflake/Databricks.
• Data visualization experience using tools such as Tableau and Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Experience working with marketing and digital data, patient-level claims data, specialty pharmacy and specialty distribution data, EHR, lab test data, HCO hierarchy and affiliation data, Veeva CRM Suite, and other pharmaceutical data sources.
• Broad knowledge of analytical techniques and data sources, with the ability to identify the most appropriate approach to address key business questions.
• Experience with field force analytics, including customer segmentation, targeting, performance measurement, and data change request processes.
Preferred:
• Consulting experience is a plus.
