Job Title: Pharmacist

Job Description

  • Execute day-to-day operations in the pharmacy related to workflow, production quotas, and deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding pharmacy practice.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with DEA policies and third-party payer contract rules.
  • Supervise pharmacy production staff to ensure proper order entry, workflow, security, and delivery schedule adherence.
  • Check for completeness and accuracy of all new and refill labels and orders, verifying content and accuracy of drug packaging and labeling.
  • Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of all sterile IV drug products or solutions.
  • Assist in ordering, handling, receiving, documenting, and storing all controlled substances while maintaining perpetual inventory for schedule II drugs.
  • Provide evening and weekend coverage as required.
  • Ensure all crushed or dropped medications are segregated for proper destruction or disposal in accordance with waste regulations.
  • Clear workflow dashboard daily.
  • Follow all government regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Comply with departmental policies on safety, attendance, and dress code.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's or Doctorate in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Current pharmacy license in good standing in Illinois.
  • Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience.
  • Proficient in clinical interpretation of drug-drug, drug-disease, drug-food interactions, and allergies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform accurately and efficiently when dispensing prescription medications.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Effective multitasking abilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Compounding skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Work Environment

This role is based in a long-term care pharmacy environment where noise levels may be loud. You may be required to sit or stand for seven to ten hours per day and occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, walk, or crawl. Lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds may be necessary. The schedule includes Monday through Friday with weekends as scheduled, predominantly during PM shifts from 5:30pm to 2am. A 10% shift differential is added to the base rate for hours worked past 5pm equating hourly pay to $66/hr.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Downers Grove, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
