The Position
Genentech USA, Inc. seeks a Data Analytics Manager at its South San Francisco, CA location.
Duties: In this individual contributor role, collaborate with stakeholders to research and understand markets and applications to business needs, key questions, and priorities, and ensure alignment with project objectives and analytic lead direction in a highly-matrixed organization. Perform custom analyses by applying appropriate analytic techniques to address business challenges. Contribute to continuous organizational improvement by sharing best practices, identifying opportunities for automation, and enhancing the efficiency and impact of analytic workflows. Play an active role in the adoption of analytical products by staying up to date on the product roadmap, participating in training, user testing (as needed), and providing constructive feedback to ensure products are integrated into workflows. Embed and integrate products into workflows and foster Data, Analytics, and AI's product-first culture. Effectively interact with and guide offshore teams to ensure alignment with project objectives and maintain high-quality deliverables. Actively contribute to the community of practice by sharing knowledge, participating in discussions, and supporting peers to enhance collective expertise and drive continuous improvement. Build proficiency in tailoring communication to specific audiences, communicating and influencing senior leaders and simplifying details for stakeholder buy-in. Demonstrates the ability to independently handle project tasks, and proactively seeks managerial guidance as needed. Proactively identifies risks and seeks manager input to drive positive project outcomes. Deliver impactful insights and analytics (depending on team alignment):
  • Market Research: Conduct qualitative and quantitative research with patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem to assess and improve the patient experience.
  • Forecasting: Generate revenue and supply forecasts, perform uncertainty analyses, and provide actionable insights to inform strategic business decisions.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Monitor and track the competitive landscape, assess competitive threats, and gather intelligence from key national and regional medical conferences to inform strategy and positioning.
  • Data Analytics: Analyze secondary and structured datasets to surface actionable insights that benefit customers and patients.
  • Access: Apply expertise in managed care to assess the impact of payer management, coverage, coding, pricing, contracting, and other reimbursement drivers, and work to remove barriers to Genentech therapies while improving the overall customer experience.
  • Digital Measurement: Design and conduct digital analytics and performance measurement to generate insights that inform strategy.

May telecommute up to 2 days per week.
Education and experience required: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Business Analytics, Data Science or related field and 2 years of experience as data analyst, data scientist, or related position
Special Requirements: Academic or Professional experience must include:
  • Pharma Data Analytics
  • Data Visualizations for Business Reporting and KPIs tracking
  • Statistical modeling and coding
  • Synthesizing complex analytical work into simple strategic narratives
  • Programming & Scripting Language for Claims & Sales data retrieval and processing

The expected annual salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of California is $186,240 to $243,900 per year. Actual pay within the range will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
