Job description

ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics LLC is seeking a Personnel Security Assistant to support the federal program - Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in Washington, DC. We provide information security, enterprise architecture, software development and health IT solutions to federal government customers.ย ย 

Work Location: Washington DC

Responsibilities:ย 

  • Provide administrative and customer service support by answering phones, filing paperwork, preparing and reviewing correspondence, and performing other assigned duties.
  • Review request, security, and waiver packages; review PSRs for background investigations (BIs) and security clearances; and initiate, review, troubleshoot, and audit e-QIP applications.
  • Conduct and coordinate personnel security checks, including credit, Selective Service, Federal Licensing System, state police, School Accreditation, NCIC/NLETS (via JWIN), TECS foreign travel, IA, FBI Name, PIV, and The Work Number verifications.
  • Query PIPS for previous investigations, request investigative files from other agencies and service providers, and review Position Designation Tools to determine the appropriate level of investigation.
  • Manage, track, and audit personnel security cases using internal and Departmental databases; conduct file audits and weekly/bi-weekly inventory counts; prepare files for Federal Records Center (FRC) shipment; and enter and track obligations for field investigator assignments.
  • Complete initial risk assessments for subjects who violate ATF agency-specific qualifications and conduct open-source research to support e-QIP reviews.
  • Prepare polygraph packages, accommodate and fingerprint applicants for FBI fingerprint checks as part of the pre-employment background investigation process, and distribute FBI Name Check results.
  • Serve as a liaison between ATF and federal and state agencies, provide administrative case support for multiple Security Investigators (SIs), and communicate with subjects and sponsors by sending reminder emails and resolving e-QIP-related issues.


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred; and
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a general office setting.
  • Excellent customer/client handling skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Working knowledge of MS Office โ€“ Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; database experience;
  • Experience working with e-QIP and JPAS preferred;
  • Strong interpersonal skills; written and oral communication skills;
  • Excellent time management โ€“ ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines; and
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
